What is shared web hosting?

There are literally hundreds of millions, of websites on the internet.

Each website that you view on the internet needs a server (big computer) to live on. Servers cost a lot of money to build, maintain and administer, so somebody came up with the idea of sharing servers between more than one website and thus, shared web hosting was born.

The same theory was also applied to the email and database servers, so a good shared hosting service, will offer you not only shared web hosting, but also shared email and database hosting at the same time.

Should I use shared web hosting?
