VirtueMart 1.1.6

The latest version of the popular free shopping cart software 'VirtueMart' has now released a new version, 1.1.6.

We advise all our UK web hosting customers currently using VirtueMart to upgrade as soon as possible. Although the change log is not currently available, we expect that a number of bug fixes have been completed and from a security perspective the update should prove worthwhile.

For existing users the update is a simple task. Simply login to Joomla, navigate to the VirtueMart component and click 'Check for updates' under the 'Admin' section.

After this, click the 'Check Now' button and, if your version is out of date, click the 'Download Update' button. VirtueMart will then test if it can write to a number of installation directories. They should all appear green, if not, ensure you make the directories writable, check the warning checkbox and click 'Apply Patch now'.
