WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Isocore carried out an independent validation of the AMN 1700 Packet Transport System (PTS) of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), which is positioned as aggregation switch for access infrastructure and label switching node in a metro network environment. The testing demonstrated the AMN platform’s provisioning, quality of service, and high-reliability ensuring the independence between the control and data plane.
“The successful testing of Hitachi PTS platform promises the potential benefits this platform brings to the service providers”
“The successful testing of Hitachi PTS platform promises the potential benefits this platform brings to the service providers,” said, Dr. Naoaki Yamanaka, Executive Director of Isocore Asia Pacific Operations. “This is the beginning of a new era for Packet Transport Technology and opening of new opportunities for products in this domain.”
In the recently concluded testing, Isocore carried out a series of tests confirming key features of the Hitachi PTS platform. The primary objective of the testing was to confirm the ability of AMN 1700 PTS to support variety of end user traffic (IP, metro Ethernet, ATM, and MPLS) across MPLS transport infrastructure with a separation of control and data plane.
In addition to the basic transport functionality verification, it also demonstrated sub-50ms convergence recovery against packet MPLS transport network failures. Other tests that were carried out verified the traffic policing, confirming the capability of device under test to meet the service provider’s service level agreement requirements. The testing further investigated and confirmed forwarding performance of the platform for different frame sizes for ATM and Ethernet traffic.
